GrabCAD Software - 30 Jul 2018

3D printing enables designers and engineers to bring their innovative designs to life from a 2D concept drawing or a 3D file to a physical object you can hold in your hands. With these developments it has meant our design ability has taken leaps and bounds throughout the past few decades; however, our biggest problem we still face in digital manufacturing is that we are not as connected as we should be yet!

GrabCAD Print software has been designed with GrabCAD and Stratasys. It’s a software platform that brings connectivity and accessibility to digital 3D printing ecosystems, enabling a faster, more harmonious, and more flexible work stream that works in harmony with busy 21st century life. Are you frequently in and out of the office, work as a remote team, or waste time and energy converting endless files ready for print?  GrabCAD print is the most user-friendly software that has been specifically designed to make 3D printing a more effective process.

A traditional 3D print workflow involves the engineers and designers who create their designs in CAD software, but then they have to send it to a print operator. Sending the files means you have to take the time to upload the file to a USB stick, an FTP server or via email, and this isn’t always convenient if you’ve got a large file and a stack of other files that need printing. The print operator then has to process the file, which may involve file conversion, STL processing and editing before it can even be sent to the printer. This process is time consuming and if you’re print operator is on holiday or off sick, you have to wait for them to return to work before you can print your files. This is not at all ideal.

GrabCAD makes workflow significantly faster as any engineer, technician, or even anyone with a CAD file can send their part to the printer. GrabCAD features include:

  • Automatic support Generation
  • Control of multiple printers with one software, even if they are different technologies e.g. FDM and PolyJet.
  • The Ability to import native CAD files and repair them if there are any issues.
  • Scheduling to manage the queue from multiple printers, even if you’re not in the office.
  • Status notifications in real time.
  • Job history info to track machine usage.
  • Mobile app to monitor jobs from your phone.
  • Network security you can trust.
